Overview

Leeds Trinity University may be small, but it has a significant reputation, largely due to its requirement for professional work experiences in all undergraduate programs. According to the 2022 Graduate Outcomes report by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), 95% of graduates were either employed or pursuing further education within 15 months of graduation.

Every student at Leeds Trinity University receives the academic and personal support necessary for their success. This commitment to student satisfaction is reflected in the 2022 National Student Satisfaction Survey, which revealed that students were the most satisfied at Leeds Trinity University compared to other mainstream institutions.

While the institution has traditionally focused on teacher education and theology, it has recently made considerable investments in enhancing its media studies and journalism programs, giving students access to well-equipped studios across various disciplines. In recent years, it has also introduced new two-year degrees in areas such as sports coaching and tourism and leisure management. Additionally, every program at Leeds Trinity includes a professional work placement, offering students valuable opportunities for hands-on experience.

History

Trinity College and All Saints College were established in 1966 but were initially operated separately by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion and the Catholic Education Council, respectively.

Principals Sister Augusta Maria and Andrew Kean collaborated closely before dividing their administrative responsibilities at different schools. Kean managed the school’s curriculum, faculty, and external relations, while Sister Augusta handled the institution’s finances, facilities, student life, and administrative operations. Today, both the Andrew Kean Learning Centre and the Sister Augusta Maria C.P. Auditorium are named in their honor.

Due to the significant demand for teachers in the 1960s, these institutions aimed to set themselves apart from competitors by offering their students a more practical, hands-on educational experience in the classroom.
